I am Maarten van den Hoogen en live in Escharen. Most people will never have heard of this village. It does not surprise me at all! Escharen is situated in the Land van Cuijk (Land of Cuijk) in the eastern part of North Brabant. In spite of this unfamiliarity Escharen is already a real digital village. I have got various hobbies, such as motor cycling and collecting music from the seventies. However, my passion is my genealogy research. Searching for one's roots!. In order to illustrate this I have put my lineage record and a genealogy on this page. Furthermore, I am very much engaged in my research into the family name VAN DEN HOOGEN. I have also mentioned a few things about it on this page. I have also made a few links to the main genealogical sites.
The bearers of the name VAN DEN HOOGEN from the eastern part of North Brabant were about all baptized and or married Roman Catholic. But there were exceptions! Please look under the chapter "RELIGION".
